ضمایر ملکی در زبان انگلیسی

این ضمائر برای بیان مالکیت بکار می روند و در ترکیب های مجزا بدون نیاز به اسم و یا عبارت اسمی (ترکیب صفت و اسم) بکار می روند، زیرا این ضمائر به خودی خود در برگیرنده‌ی معنای ترکیب صفت ملکی و اسم می باشند.

به مثال‌های زیر توجه کنید:

Look at these pictures. Mine is the big one. (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= my picture)

I like your flowers. Do you like mine? (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= my flowers) 

I looked everywhere for your key. I found John’s key but I couldn’t find yours. (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= your key)

My flowers are dying. Yours are lovely. (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= your flowers) 

All the essays were good but his was the best. (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= his essay)

John found his passport but Mary couldn’t find hers. (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= her passport)

John found his clothes but Mary couldn’t find hers. (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= her clothes) 

Here is your car. Ours is over there, where we left it. (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= our car)

Your photos are good. Ours are terrible. (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= our photos) 

Each couple’s books are color-coded. Yours are red. (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= your books)

I don’t like this family’s garden but I like yours. (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= your garden) 

These aren’t John and Mary’s children. Theirs have black hair. (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= their children)

John and Mary don’t like your car. Do you like theirs? (مرجع ضمیر ملکی= their car)
